What to do between our tutoring sessions? Solo and real-world practice of French! Grammar books, AI-powered systems, or video-binging… are frustrating but have value. Our high-frequency learning schedules complement those tools to help you progress faster.

Review your tutor’s notes

After every session, your tutor takes the time to write notes about what you have done, what went well, what needs to be worked on, and homework. Please, give feedback to your tutor to make those notes as productive as possible.

Contact Toff Education for any learning challenge

We are available by chat, email, phone, or text to answer your questions. Questions can certainly be administrative, like billing or scheduling. But, questions can also be about grammar, vocabulary, drills, third-party applications… We are always happy to help reach your goals. And it helps us better train our tutors and structure our learning programs.

Use mobile and Web apps

There are many online services to learn French. We warmly recommend some of them. For instance, we love it when our students spend time with VerbEx to hone their conjugation skills. Frankly, personal time on those verbs will give better results than hours of tutoring. We don’t develop such tools because we believe there are already good tools out there and we like to be agnostic in that matter.

Use AI chatbots

Please, use ChatGPT or another chatbot to converse in French. Keep note of any challenge you may encounter and share it with your tutor so that you get the appropriate grammatical or lexical advice.

Practice using old-fashioned grammar books

Your tutor will be happy to use the books you may already have or advise you on purchasing a new one. Our favorite over time has been “le Bled” but there are many reference books with exercises. You can purchase one of them. Alternatively, you can use the free resources available online. As always, use your tutor to better understand those references. Don’t hesitate to challenge us with stuff you don’t quite understand.

Consume entertainment in French

Watching movies and TV series in French helps as soon as you have acquired the fundamentals of grammar and vocabulary.
